I have been coming to visit my brother at UMC Burn Unit many times over the past 71 days. He was in a pipeline explosion in August. Most of the nurses there are awesome, but Steven went above and beyond "care". When my brother's birthday came during his stay, Steven came on his day off to put up a couple of decorations. He also knew my brother liked country music so he'd lay his phone by my brother's ear and play music for him. Then he decided to buy a radio for his room instead. My sister-in-law was more at ease when he was there. Even if he wasn't caring for my brother that night, he'd always check on both of them and give my sister-in-law a hug just so she knew he cared. He would listen to her concerns and pass them on. He wasn't a "quiet" nurse, one who just comes in and leaves. He explained fully what he was doing and why. Steven is a true DAISY Nurse!
