Recently my family had quite a scare when my 84-year-old uncle was hit by a car, as a pedestrian. As a nurse here at Allegheny General, I was able to see patient care from the other side of things. I experienced what it is like to rely on the nurse at the bedside as your lifeline to help facilitate communication between doctors and families. I would like to recognize and make you aware of Steven Shoup for the exceptional care he gave to my uncle, and his ability to give my family a sense of peace and ease knowing he was there when we weren't able to be. Steve is compassionate, patient and went above and beyond to take care of my uncle and answer all of our families many questions. Steve's care made all the difference in my uncle's recovery.
