There is always that one nurse who stands out and rises above the rest on a consistent basis, this person is Todd.
It is my experience that anytime the ER needs Todd for any sort of assistance, it is always replied back with an "absolutely, happy to help you guys." Various tasks such as assistance with a patient transport, a full code, a scorpion envenomation, or needing a US IV are a few among many things Todd helps our department with. He is always positive. He is teamwork oriented. He greets everyone with a smile.
Todd is not only our go-to for assistance but he also takes pride in getting to know the staff, visiting with them, and asking if there is anything he can do to make their shift better. This not only pertains to the ER staff but also to all ancillary staff as well.
Todd exemplifies the Dignity core values and is an asset to not only our team but the hospital team as a whole. There are many instances I can think of to share regarding Todd and his valued work, however, one of the most recent involved a pediatric patient with a scorpion envenomation that required multiple resources for treatment. Todd was readily available and willing to help however he could, even though this was not his area of expertise. It was with his help and the ER team responding to the patient that we were successfully able to establish access and treat the patient. At the end of the shift, this patient was able to go home and the parents were extremely happy with the care they received despite the many hardships that were faced during the patient's time in the ER.
Thank you, Todd, for all you do and contribute to our team. We appreciate you!
