If I remember correctly, Steve was the first person I saw when I woke up after surgery. He immediately gave off such a happy and pleasant demeanor that it could not help but lift your spirits. Steve was so attentive, kind, and caring, and I didn’t have to hound him to do anything. I did not have to ask over and over again. He stayed on my pain management and made sure I got a room upstairs ASAP. He even took me up himself because everywhere was short-staffed. Steve treated me like he would a friend and made me feel so happy and comfortable.

You can tell this is man is meant to be in this profession. It comes so naturally, and he’s also so humble. I remember asking him if there were any reviews I could leave for him. I thanked him for being the most excellent person that I have encountered at this campus. He smiled and replied, “I am just doing my job.” It is so clear that he goes above and beyond. Before my belongings were returned to me, my mother called for an update. I could hear Steve on the phone, and he was so comforting and patient with her. Steve even made it a priority to go and get my belongings personally, so I could call my grandmother in Guyana before it was too late. While much of these things were simple acts of kindness, the actions of going above and beyond, in an already demanding profession, are the types of kindness that are missing from our world today.
