Stormy consistently takes care of the entire patient. She consistently goes above and beyond, even if that means doing things that aren't necessarily a requirement of her specific role. She knows the little things make a big impact on people; she often takes extra time in her day to have meaningful conversations with patients that make them feel valued which then leads to a strong rapport and relationship. This trust she builds allows the patients to feel safe to share information that can overall better their care.

A story to demonstrate this example took place recently; a patient was discharged home, and once they arrived home, they realized they accidentally threw their medication list in the trash. They were started on new medications they were unfamiliar with, so they were worried they would not take everything as prescribed. Stormy went out of her way to deliver this medication list to the patient's caregiver's place of work. She reviewed the list and made sure they felt confident in their understanding. This is just one example of the type of nurse and person Stormy is. I only know she did this because I have the privilege of working alongside her; she often does many "little" things, but they are not always known to all. Little things make a big impact.
