Not only did Stu care for our child, but he cared for our well being as parents too. He made sure we rested and made us go get breakfast and try to relax and take a breather versus sitting at our son's bedside worried, stressing the importance of self-care. You could feel that he truly cared for our son by showering him in love, affection and talking to him like we weren't even there. He was very professional as a nurse but very relatable too which made us very comfortable. He explained every aspect of care and anytime we had a concern, he would actively listen and explain things. He was on top of it, thinking of things our son might need before we even thought of them and would seek out the doctor if there were any questions. My son was in some pain but he used his knowledge as a nurse to watch my son's signs and knew when it might be time for his pain medication, therefore allowing my son to be comfortable staying on top of his pain. He went above and beyond to help both us and our son feel comfortable. There is a long list of reasons why he is a DAISY Nurse, the main one being he is a compassionate nurse who actually cares about his patients, versus just doing his job.
