I am proud to nominate Su Hyun Park for the Individual Nurse DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in recognition of her exceptional clinical expertise, unwavering advocacy, and commitment to excellence in the operating room.
Su Hyun consistently demonstrates outstanding skill in both circulating and scrubbing roles. Her attention to detail and dedication to patient safety ensure that every individual under her care is treated with the highest standard of clinical excellence. She is a steadfast advocate for her patients’ dignity and well-being—especially in moments when they are most vulnerable.
Her leadership and teamwork set her apart. When the OR needs to open an additional room, Su Hyun is among the first to step forward. She willingly takes on the responsibility of training and precepting across multiple specialties, both in circulating and scrubbing, going above and beyond to support her colleagues’ growth and confidence.
Su Hyun exemplifies ethical practice and courage. She is not afraid to speak up when something is not right or safe for the patient. Whether addressing incomplete or untimely consents or holding others accountable, she prioritizes patient safety above all—even when it requires difficult conversations.
