Sue arrived to help convince my grandfather to sign up for Hospice and was very patient and informative with him. When he refused, she was very supportive of his decision and then was able to comfort and calm me, his caregiver. She said to give him time. He signed the next day. As a WWII Veteran having served and lost a brother at Iwo Jima, he was proud of his country. Sue knew he only had a few days left and that his family was in town to see him, so she rallied the Vets and performed the pinning ceremony in a day's notice. That was the last time he had real awareness. It was her weekend on-call taking care of about 29 patients, but she took the time to make this happen for us. Thank you, Sue. You are a special person.
