I nominate Sue Hutchinson for the DAISY Award, she is a exceptional nurse and demonstrates many of the criteria needed for the DAISY Award. Sue has the passion for nursing shown by the way she cares for all her patients, she always has the reassuring smile when she enters a room that puts patients and family at ease. Her clinical expertise is shown by her mentoring skills with all employees. Her clinical excellence is shown by her level 3 on the clinical ladder, and by being a great clinical leader on 2 West at Newark. She has always shown the ultimate respect for patients and families by taking whatever time is needed to care for them, explain procedures, cares, etc. I have seen her grief with families upon losing loved ones and also sharing in their joy. She is able to put everyone at ease and that includes staff. She is the nurse to go to with any questions, concerns, problems and she will address them. It is an honor to nominate Sue who I have grown to love as a co worker and friend after 32 years of service.
