Sue is an amazing nurse. She makes a person feel so comfortable. My daughter is in the Stormont Vail Health NICU due to being born at 30 weeks. The first time we got Sue as our nurse we got to give our daughter a tub bath. She put clothes on her for the first time. She had to have lab work and we found out she needed a blood transfusion. Whenever a doctor or ARNP came in to let me know what was going on, Sue always asked if I understood and if I didn't she would explain. When they had to put in her IVs, Sue said I was strong for being there. I had to leave and I cried, but Sue told me to promise to call and check in. I called several times that afternoon and she always made me feel okay for not being there with our daughter. Sue was our nurse the next day and I brought a card and candy as a thank you for her caring. She was so grateful and told me she was worried about me when I left. She is so amazing. Her compassionate caring for babies and their families you don't find every day. Sue deserves this award more than anyone! We love her. She is the best nurse ever! She goes above and beyond for her patients and families.
