My son, R, recently had a relapse in his ITP late on a Friday afternoon. His platelet counts were critically low and he was traveling at the time. Sue was an amazing champion for my son in helping us navigate and coordinate care between the providers at Beacon and the providers where my son needed to be seen. She was compassionate, calm, and reassuring to both R and me. She spent a lot of time on the phone with both of us as she worked through all the difficulties of managing care from the telephone. Sue was warm and caring while listening to our concerns and needs. Sue has the ability to handle a stressful and serious situation with ease and her diligence and compassion are noteworthy. Sue exemplifies all the aspects of providing family-centered patient care. My son has been a patient at Beacon for three years and Sue has been his primary nurse during this time. She has been an excellent advocate for him and an amazing caregiver. We are so fortunate to have the wonderful team at Beacon managing R's care. Sue's professionalism, commitment to caring for others, and attention to detail all contribute to the definition of being an amazing nurse. We are so grateful to Sue!
