September 2018 Honoree
sue rivera blasius, MSN, RN
Sue is knowledgeable and is available to assist students with skills to increase the chance of passing skill tests.
Sue has a calm presence and in turn, when she explains things it comes off clear and calm and makes for a good learning environment.
The VA is a teaching hospital and Sue has been willing to teach and exemplifies a person all nurses should be.
She walks up, takes your report and talks you through your thought process and then demonstrates/guides you through the task.
She seems to smile and encourage students' knowledge and provides a place where I feel comfortable to increase learning.
She works with clinical advisors, students and then patients' nurses. She navigates between these three all while not offending or stepping on toes. She creates a learning environment.
