I wanted to share a very touching moment I witnessed. GVH PCU and ortho nurses cared for a very sick young woman. She was in her thirties, terminally ill with CA and had a small child. This patient tragically passed away on ortho. I witnessed Sue sitting in the hospital lobby that morning sitting face-to-face, holding the hand of the patient's Father in a very tender moment. During the busyness of her morning supervising, Sue took time to sit and provide emotional support to a grieving Father. This is an example of not only an excellent leader, but a kind, compassionate nurse that we have at GVH!
