Sue answered many questions we had with great patience in terms we understood. We appreciated her kind attention to detail and her response to our concerns.
My husband returned to the hospital after spending just a few days at home. At home, he got worse each day and struggled to breathe as he experienced more fluid retention. Thankfully he received the attention from the doctors and nurses he needed to improve daily in the hospital and there are plans for him to continue his recovery at a rehab hospital. We had some questions about the fluid retention in his legs and feet and were concerned about orders to wrap his legs and use compression stockings due to the fact he had cellulitis. We were afraid the infection could get worse by wrapping. People attempted to explain how it would be beneficial but we just couldn't understand how. Sue sat down with us and explained in terms we could understand that it would be helpful to him. The next day when he was scheduled to be re-wrapped, Sue allowed him to get a much-needed shower first and helped us with applying lotion and shower instructions. She answered many questions we had with great patience in terms we understood. We appreciated her kind attention to detail and her response to our concerns. It was obvious Sue had the concern and the knowledge to attend well to the needs and well-being of my husband. She explained a lot about CHF that we needed to know.
