Suko Davies, RN, was nominated for the DAISY Award by one of her patients Mr. J D for the extraordinary care he received by Suko while he was in the ER at Huntington Hospital. He wrote:
It is with the deepest sense of appreciation that I write to you to at least, try to express my heartfelt thanks for all the help and caring Suko gave me for the best service to me and my family during my stay in the emergency room on Friday. There are no adequate words to convey my true feelings of gratitude since she has gone out of her way to be helpful and render assistance even beyond the scope of her responsibility. The manifestation of her professionalism and the ever cheerful manner in which she rendered assistance to me has made a lasting impression which will forever be indelible in my mind.
I would like to let you know that Ms. Davies has done an outstanding job to render service to the patient like me and I am sure she would do the same job for all others who require her care. I am 90 years old and was in the emergency room many times; however, Ms. Davies is one of the best nurses I have a pleasure to know.
Ms. Davies is a great asset to your hospital, as well as to the entire healthcare organization.
