Susan "Sue" Brown, FNP, attended to the patient for over two years as the Wound Care nurse practitioner. The patient's daughter wrote that her father had a long time recovering from a diabetic foot ulcer. The family's experience with Sue Brown, FNP, was that she was very attentive with them at every visit. They trusted her judgment and she demonstrated a willingness to never give up on caring for their father. Amputation was an option for their father, but Sue Brown encouraged him to stay off his feet and carefully follow through with the prescribed and recommended treatments. In the beginning, the patient's ulcer covered 2/3 of his heel, and now the wound is completely closed.
