My 97-year-old mother was in the process of dying (she would later die in my home while on hospice), but I couldn't see it.  She was hallucinating and speaking to my late father.  Susan C., the nurse that day, had a calming presence and tried to help me understand that my mother was calm, happy, and not in pain. 

She helped me to try to feel grateful for the many years I was able to share with my mom.  She was very gentle and soothing with my mother, and patient and kind.  I feel I was blessed that day to have her care for my mom during that difficult time.
