Susan Clark has worked at Good Samaritan for twelve years and is our Certified Outpatient Diabetes Educator. A diabetic herself, Susan understands and relates well to patients with this disease. Susan is very compassionate, loves to teach and provides one-on-one patient education about diabetes.
She assists patients with obtaining their medical supplies and teaches them about their individual plan of care. She has developed a monthly support group for diabetics which often includes guest speakers. Susan has even provided diabetes education by phone to those who were not able to participate in her diabetes education programs.
She is a very active member of the Diabetes Council and assists with providing nursing education on diabetes. She has worked with the inpatient nursing staff and education department to equip nursing units with a tool box filled with information and guidance for patients. Finally, Susan actively promotes healthcare legislation on diabetes through her correspondence with senators and congressmen. We proudly honor Susan Clark with the Daisy award.
