It is because of her compassionate service to them that Susan not only cares for their bodily pains, but whenever she detects a patient with spiritual pain, she calls me aside and gives me an update about the patient before I visit.
I have known Susan for the last few years. Even though we are asked to write about one story, I have many stories floating in my head about Susan’s interactions with patients. She approaches each patient with care and love. Working in health care is not an easy job, and she serves everyone who comes her way with a sweet smile. Family members have only nice things to say about her. There are some patients who return to the hospital for various reasons. Whether it was a recent visit or some time ago, they always remember her well. It is because of her compassionate service to them that Susan not only cares for their bodily pains, but whenever she detects a patient with spiritual pain, she calls me aside and gives me an update about the patient before I visit. She devotes herself to providing overall care, including mind, body, and spirit. I really appreciate her input as a team player. At times, I see young nurses seeking her guidance for medical conditions of their patients, as well as their own personal matters. She is always genuine, gentle, joyful, caring, and loving. This becomes evident to anyone in the first five minutes in her presence. She goes above and beyond to provide excellent service to patients under her care.
