Sue's experience was a true blessing. She knew what I needed and was able to get me comfortable.
I had a complete hip replacement performed. The doctor suggested that I spend the night because of my pacemaker/defibrillator. My family was in total agreement. My surgery went well. I had fantastic nurses and aids. The problem came after being in my room for a short time. I was cold and asked for warm blankets, and they were placed next to my body. Oh that felt so good. A half hour or so had passed. I again asked for warm blankets a second time. I again got two warm blankets next to my gown. Wow! I had hoped this would be it. About another 30 minutes passed and called again for more warm blankets. A third time, I received two warm blankets next to me and Sue (nurse) checked all my vitals, IV, my chart and asked pertinent questions. I was shivering at this time, and Sue said the doctor had left other meds on my chart that she could use. Did I want her to make me a special cocktail? I and my family agreed. Yes!

Sue's knowledge and the doctor leaving choices for meds were a miracle! I fell right to sleep and woke up not cold anymore. Sue did tell me all meds I had received at the time of dispensing, but my memory has failed me. Sue's experience was a true blessing. She knew what I needed and was able to get me comfortable. My family and I were elated. Her knowledge and experience were stupendous. AWESOME NURSE! A heartfelt thank you doesn't seem like much, but it really is from our hearts.

Note: This is Susan's second DAISY Award!
