Dr. Susan Hageness is an advocate for integrating holistic-focused care and integrative therapies into nursing and interdisciplinary health care practice. She advocates for both the science and art in nursing practice, and believes that to be a truly great nurse one needs to:listen to each client’s story, and, be fully present in mind-body-spirit when interacting with every client. Dr. Hageness co-established and managed one of the first pediatric integrative health care programs in the U.S.A. at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics (Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN) that provided children and their families with holistic and integrative care options. She is an outstanding role-model for students in relationship-centered care of patients, families, and communities.
