On a Wednesday my sister was moved to the Palliative Care Unit; on Thursday morning her breathing tube was removed; and in the early morning hours of Friday, she lost her courageous battle with breast cancer. The staff on this unit was phenomenal at answering questions and offering comfort at a very difficult time.
Sue was my sister's nurse when the breathing tube was removed and remained with us until her shift ended. Although she was not there when my sister passed, Sue was compassionate, caring and loving, not only to my sister but her loved ones too. Being a professionally skilled woman, she was very knowledgeable and patient and answered each one of our questions, but she was also so loving to my sister and to us all. From the bottom of our hearts thank you is not enough and I'm sure my sister would agree.
