Susan provided the best patient care and bedside manner I have ever seen. She checked in on me frequently, meeting all my needs when she came around, and would even spend a few minutes chatting with me. I was only in the hospital for a few days, but she made me feel right at home and very well cared for.

On my second day at the hospital, she helped administer a new medication through my IV. After explaining the medicine and getting it started, I began to feel my body cramp. I thought I was having a heart attack. I immediately hit the nurse call button and asked for her to “please come help!” Seconds later, she came running into the room, stopped the IV, immediately paged the MD while she was in the room, and did not leave my side. She rubbed my arm, talked calmly to me, and helped me feel that she had everything under control. She spoke with the pharmacy and doctor and advocated for the medication to be run more slowly and told me, “I promise I will not leave you until we know you will not have a reaction again.“

I could really trust her to be right there in my room with me and that made me comfortable. I knew that anything could happen, and she would be there to help. That afternoon, my daughter (who is in nursing school) said to me, “Mom, that is the kind of nurse I want to be.” That to me is the biggest compliment that can be given! I am on the administrative side of healthcare, and I could not be more impressed with the amazing care she gave me. She listened to all my concerns, made me feel comfortable, and I trusted her completely with my medical care. I am very appreciative of her and the 3rd-floor team!
