I'm an RN working on 5West. Last night, one of your nurses, Susan Foad, transferred a patient from MICU to 5West. The patient who I'm referring to is a homeless man who came in with only a pair of pants, shoes, gloves, hat and a urine soaked jacket. Today on Susan's day off, she returned back to 5West and brought this patient two brand new pairs of jeans, several t-shirts and a new duffelbag to place his belongings in. It not only brought tears to my eyes, but it also made the patient tear up and completely speechless. The level of compassion and care that Susan demonstrated to this patient is absolutely amazing. I wanted to be sure that she received the recognition she deserved for doing such a selfless and caring act for another person.
