I never thought I would cry saying goodbye to my nurse after delivering my son. You have an exceptional team member in Susan. The unit was swamped, but she managed to make it feel like she wasn't in multiple places at once. As a first-time mom, I didn’t know the amount of help I would need with simple tasks like using the bathroom or getting out of bed. Susan helped me with absolutely everything like prepping my postpartum necessities, helping to lift me and walk me through my room as needed, and even taking the baby to the nursery without making me feel guilty for needing some rest. It felt like I had my own personal cheerleader helping me through the recovery. She was so understanding and continued to refer to me as “mama” making me feel so amazing for what I had accomplished. Susan never rushed me through my millions of questions even though she had so many patients to take care of. She was funny, and understanding and went above and beyond at every turn, even searching the floor for a vase to put flowers in that my mother-in-law brought to the hospital for me.

While all of the nurses were wonderful, Susan was a true angel on earth during my recovery. There are certain people who know their calling and are meant to do what they do. That’s Susan! She is a true DAISY Nurse, as she encompasses everything an amazing nurse should be…positivity, empathy, kindness, and caring. I am so thankful that she was the one on staff during my stay and hope you can recognize her for the work she does. You are fortunate to have Susan as part of your staff!
