Susan Moore, MSN, RN started her career as a nurse educator at UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing 6 years ago. She obtained her Nursing Diploma from Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California University of Pennsylvania, and her Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She currently teaches students in the Professional Nursing Communications Course. Susan is active on a number of student and faculty committees and co-chairs the Faculty Development Committee. In Susan’s spare time, she enjoys traveling, beach activities, flowers and yard work, Steelers football and spending time with her daughter. As for her favorite things about being a nurse and teaching students, Susan says, “I love connecting with people. As a long-practicing nurse I find it rewarding to see our students deliver the care we all strongly believe patients and families deserve. It is also gratifying to see our students grow and succeed. I get to enjoy the fruits of my labor at graduation twice a year every year!”
