She has led the way for compassionate, yet firmly determined, nursing for years, and she deserves recognition for all she does to advocate for her patients.
Sue was nominated by a colleague for her dedication and commitment to patient support. The nomination reads as follows:
Sue is a highly skilled and compassionate nurse that hospital at home have been honoured to work with for many years.
There are so many examples of why Sue deserves this recognition that it's hard to pick one, but she has recently worked very hard to advocate for a patient to be admitted whose level of need could not be met in the community. She simply would not take no for an answer (but in her usual kind and patient way), and liaised with multiple professionals to make this possible, even though it was a complex situation which many people did not know how to approach, and her plan was initially did not come to fruition.
Her patience and determination is something that I really admire, and in this situation it has made all the difference for this patient, as their outcome would have been very different if they were not admitted. She has led the way for compassionate, yet firmly determined, nursing for years, and she deserves recognition for all she does to advocate for her patients.
