Susan was caring for a routine induction when the baby’s position changed to transverse at 5-6cm. The physician opted for a c-section, but within 2 minutes, she changed her mind to try an external cephalic version because the patient didn’t want surgery. Susan quickly realized the significant change and called for assistance. She directed all new RNs with speed and accuracy. She stayed calm when many others with more experience might have faltered. Susan quickly mobilized the OR team. Susan continued interventions and was successful. While chaos was around her, Susan kept calm and continued to reassure the patient. The patient had the vaginal delivery she desired.
