Susan, known as "Miss Susan" to the 32 adolescent boys she cares for each shift, is a cornerstone of kindness and compassion in our hospital. Miss Susan was nominated by over 20 patients, who identified the respect, compassion, and quality care that she provides. Susan has been known to bring in her sewing kit to help repair or hem clothing of our numerous less-fortunate residents, and she always has superglue handy to repair a child's broken shoe. Susan has been a nurse at our hospital for nearly 5 years in addition to being a wife and mother to 11 children. She is an exceptionally caring nurse and her patients truly showed their drive to recognize her through The DAISY Award!
