Having been with Covenant for more than 35 years, Susan currently serves our ministry as the Nursing Director for Acute Med/Surg. She was chosen by her peers and the Recruitment and Retention Council for role modeling extraordinary behavior and creating an environment where trust and compassion are modeled and supported.
Those who work with Susan describe her "as someone who provides open, honest communication with all team members while going above and beyond to attentively listen to caregivers." Susan leads by example and is involved in all areas of the acute med/surg units.
As stated in her nomination form, "Susan motivates and supports our teams to be the best and to always put the patient first." Susan is also actively involved with community schools of nursing, serves on several community boards, and avidly promotes the profession of nursing. Susan provided exceptional leadership during our journey to Magnet designation and has recently worked tirelessly to assure COVID patients and caregivers received care and support.
