Miss Simmers is an Extraordinary Nurse. She was very compassionate and showed that she really cared about the Veterans in all situations. Her attitude was marvelous. She explained all my meds to me and my family too. She also showed my family about my wound care and more. She stayed focused, had a positive attitude, and showed a lot of professionalism at work. I feel she went above and beyond while working. There was nothing she wasn't willing to DO! She motivated me in my care, stay, and was very informative about my healthcare at the Pitt VA. She always went above and beyond my needs to meet my expectations. Also was very knowledgeable in her nursing skills and she as explaining my medical orders as she went about them. She taught me and my wife about everything that concern us and gave us information and education about my medical situation. She is a positive role model. I would deeply recommend her for this award.
