April 2026 Honoree
Susan Sizemore-LaPorte, RN, BSN, BA, M.Ed, CCRN
To: Susan ("Your Weekend Warrior")
P – Susan's focus on my brother's condition and needs was amazing. My brother has Down syndrome and is non-verbal. Susan acknowledged his limitations when updating me on what she was doing for him and always included him in his care.
E – Susan showed empathy in all of her interactions with both her patient and me. It is obvious to me that Susan is one of those nurses to whom empathy and dedication to her patients come naturally.
T – Susan immediately made me comfortable with our interactions. I knew my brother was in good hands while in her care. I am grateful.
A– Susan is open and honest. She excels at both patient and family customer service in her complex role.
L – Susan offered updates and communicated new concerns regularly. She answered questions with knowledge and professionalism.
S – Susan's love for her job shines. Good nurses make difficult situations easier by showing care for their patients and support for the family members on the journey to wellness.
Thank you, Susan and Aurora.
A grateful sister of a special brother.
P.S. If my brother could talk... these would be his words!
