Susan heard that the family I was caring for was deciding to withdraw care. Susan was working on 4North and had her own kiddos to care for at the time. Susan cared for not only her children on 4North but took the time to come down to the PICU and be present with the family during a very difficult time. Susan had cared for F since she was a baby and the family knew her well. The family was extremely grateful to see and be comforted by a familiar face. Susan also came back and assisted with post-mortem care and bringing the patient to the morgue. This was incredibly comforting and important to her family and allowed them to feel as at peace as they could with leaving the hospital after F's passing.
