The DAISY Award Winner for April 2010 at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital is Susan Tamosaitis, Lead RN for Neuro Intensive Care and Neuro Step Down
Susan is a leader and has shown a proven track record of basically “just getting it done” all the while showing consistent high standards and exemplary bedside care. Susan has participated in the Neuro Science Unit-based fall studies to show reduction in patient falls and decreasing medical restraint usage. She is currently leading the way in the hospital wide hourly rounding initiative using evidence based research. Her participation and her foresight in identifying clinical areas for improvement are appreciated by all members of the healthcare team. Susan has maintained a current knowledge base by maintaining both CCRN and CNRN certification. The People Pillar Magnet Subcommittee would like to present the Daisy Award to Susan Tamosaitis. Her teammates have identified her as a very knowledgeable resource. Clearly an extraordinary nurse, Susan is also described as a “Great person” by staff members.
