My mother's health continued to decline until it was clear that she was in the end stage of her life. All of her nurses were amazing, executing the doctors' orders with utmost care and precision, but they were also so empathetic and took extra time with my mother around-the-clock. Her care was beyond top notch. However, one night, Susan displayed a thoughtfulness and kindness that went above and beyond. At about 11:15 that night, she came in with other staff. They had covered a bedside tray with a white table cloth. On the tray was a lovely bouquet of daisies, 3 mini bundt cakes, and several small cans of ginger ale. I had mentioned to her that it seemed to me that my mother was trying to make it a goal to reach her 94th birthday. At midnight, I wished my mother a happy birthday and 5 hours later she died. I will never forget that act of kindness. Thank you, Susan.
