Susan has a servant's heart and shows such empathy with each and every patient she encounters. Susan truly touched my heart and the heart of my patient this week.
My patient's wife is new to America and cannot drive a car yet. She did not realize her husband would end up being admitted for multiple nights. When rounding, Susan noticed the patient's wife from days prior and that she was still in the same clothes. The next day Susan brought in extra comfy workout clothes of hers that she felt she did not need when she saw the patient's wife's need.
Susan gave the wife clean clothes of her own and set her up for a shower here. The patient and his wife were so touched by her act of kindness. Susan is such a great role model for her outstanding compassion and care.
