Having Susan in my first semester, it was clear she worked tirelessly every day to make sure we were prepared and approached every nursing task with a positive attitude, never straying from the passion that brought us to nursing in the first place. She was an amazing instructor to have first walking into something so new and intimidating, she made for such an easy transition. Her teaching approach was very valuable to learn from in the first semester, remaining strong on the foundation of honesty and empathy through nursing care. It was clear she cared for us past just simply teaching material. She would consistently check in and see how we were doing in other classes, staying past class time to help if needed. She would never leave anyone feeling discouraged or disappointed, going out of her way to help create an individual plan for success, providing resources and valuable input. Susan truly helped each and every one of us to be prepared and confident going off to second semester and I could not be more grateful for such a pivotal educator. She truly made a difference in my life, and I'm sure so many others throughout her career. Her stories were inspiring, she is responsible for igniting my passion for nursing even deeper and made me proud to be a future RN.
