I was 20 weeks pregnant and was in labor and delivery to deliver my stillborn daughter. The situation is not an easy one to deal with personally, and I can only imagine how hard it is as a nurse. I was blessed to have been placed with Susana as my nurse. She made me and my husband feel very comfortable the entire time we were there. The whole experience was new for me having previously delivered at KP Downey via a c-section 5 years prior. I did not know what to expect from a vaginal delivery to being able to hold my miscarried baby. Susana was constantly there checking up on me and my family. She even offered support by lending a hand during difficult moments. Susana reassured me that I would be okay and that my baby would be OK. I received a box of items as a keepsake, and this touched my heart. I will be able to look back on my short time with my baby and remember her, and I have Susana to thank for that. She deserves recognition, and I hope that others will be placed under her care and have the same welcoming feeling she brought to my family and me during our difficult situation.
