Susanna is truly an amazing and very professional nurse.
I am delighted to nominate this nominee for a DAISY Award. She recently transferred to this unit and quickly transitioned into her new role. She has adapted to caring for both the mother and her newborn when providing couplet care. In addition, she communicates effectively with her patients and colleagues.
For example, the effectiveness of her communication has been demonstrated during the auditing process of bedside shift reports, where she often engages the patient and her partner.
Moreover, she is often open to feedback, allowing her to provide superior healthcare to her assigned patients. With this in mind, I'm not surprised that a former patient from the unit took the time out of her busy schedule to send an email highlighting her experience with the nominee as a nurse. Not only does she demonstrate ongoing professionalism, but she genuinely cares about her patients' overall health and well-being. Additionally, ensuring that the patient has appropriate pain management helps improve their experience and outcomes while hospitalized. As the patient mentioned in her email, I agree that she is an amazing nurse and deserves to be considered for a DAISY Award.
Email from the patient: "This was the second time that I had a baby at your facility and I just wanted to thank you for having a very professional team and especially thanks to one of your great nurses Susanna Song. Susanna is truly an amazing and very professional nurse. She was my nurse after the C-section surgery and for the first night after surgery. She helped me a lot to manage my pain and make sure I was doing great. She guided me a lot to make sure that everything was okay with me and I was able to walk on the first night my recovery was great and I think it's mostly because of her and her management of me."
