Susanne was the first nurse Granny met on the 5 East unit. Her professionalism and compassion immediately put Granny's heart at ease. She knew she would be safe on 5 East when she met Susanne. Susanne took the time to speak with Granny and she did not rush the conversation. She was genuinely interested in Granny's story and this made her feel like she was safe and secure. It was comforting to Granny knowing Susanne was nearby and Susanne frequently checked on her to make certain she was warm, dry and comfortable. Susanne was Granny's "little energizer bunny." Susanne was full of energy and she never stopped caring.
