Susie Dowling, LPN
In August of 2019, I was diagnosed with Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma, a very rare cancer. Susie was really affected by my diagnosis and treated me like her own daughter. She did everything and anything she could to help me through this process. I was very malnourished and dehydrated, and she was very prompt in responding to my doctor’s order for IV fluids.
She hugged me and told me that if I needed anything, she would help me—and she did. She supported me by being my direct liaison to my doctor. When I told her I had to have a laparotomy to get my tumors removed, and the surgeon told me I probably wouldn’t live through the surgery – she told me to focus on the positive. She told me I could email or call her for anything I needed, even emotional support. She was there for me.
It’s now December 2019, and I am alive. I’m forever grateful to Susie for her undying love and support.
