I was recently on a call with this professor so that she could get my opinion on a matter. While we did discuss the content that she wanted to touch base on, she took the time to ask how I was doing. Not just how my day was, but how I was juggling working full time, going to school full time, and still being a contributing member of my family and church. She wanted to talk about my mental health and how she could help me succeed in nursing school while still being able to contribute to all the avenues of life that I participate in now. She showed her heart for students and their ability to grasp information and implement it, but she also displayed her deep desire to build a relationship with us and help in whatever way possible. I'm not the only student who has seen this compassion firsthand; I've spoken to countless other students who have endured losses recently, have been emotionally beat down, and they all were reached out to by this professor. Her love for her students know no end, and it is that quality that makes her not only a great nurse and professor but a tremendous mentor and friend.
