A 99-year-old arrived at the Ray Hickey hospice house. The following day, the patient shared with Susie that he was really worried about his cat, which he had to leave behind at his assisted living facility. He told Susie, "Francis, the cat, is ‘probably starving’ because there is nobody to take care of her."

So Susie called the facility whose staff was supposed to be taking care of Francis to check on the cat … not happy with that, after her shift, Susie went a couple blocks away and brought Francis back for a brief reunion at the patient's bedside.

Susie shared, "It was truly a team effort that brought a ton of joy and smiles to our patient."
