Suzanne goes beyond her line of duty in patient care as evidenced by her care for some of the patients from Dana Farber who are awaiting an oncology appointment with a new physician (after the prior physician left). Suzanne works as a "gel" between the two teams in ensuring continuity of care. Suzanne is efficient, resourceful, and thoughtful with her patient care. She works diligently to find resources for our most remote and vulnerable patients. She assists with telehealth visits when transportation is unavailable. When home health is unavailable, she engages many disciplines to surround a patient’s needs to be sure, for example, a newly placed G-tube is cared for properly and nutritional needs are maximized. Suzanne is innovative and creative seeking all possible community resources for our Cancer Care of Maine (CCOM) patients. She is honest and supportive of her patient panel. Suzanne listens to her patients to properly advise on care actions and next steps. Suzanne has a good sense of excellent patient care. She does not take no for an answer and works to overcome obstacles that impede top-notch care. She easily establishes trust with her patients. This is not an easy task over the telephone.
