I was in Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls and had surgery for rectal cancer. Suzanne was my nurse from Monday through Wednesday, and was a great nurse for my three days after surgery. I was afraid, emotional and in physical pain. Suzanne was very helpful and supportive while I was in the hospital, as well as very compassionate and caring to me. She was a great and efficient nurse.
When Suzanne took the tube that led to my stomach out, it seemed to go forever and felt icky to have it pulled out. Suzanne was very good at diverting my attention while doing this. I cried and she hugged me. Suzanne is a nurse who knows how frightening it can be to be a patient in the hospital.
