My family members in the room were in awe of Suzi—her compassion, knowledge, and dedication were evident in every single moment.
Suzi was my nurse in Labor & Delivery, and I truly don’t know what I would have done without her. From the moment she started her night shift at 7 PM, she was by my side, offering not just medical care but unwavering support, encouragement, and strength. By 10 PM, it was time to push, and from that moment on, Suzi never left me—not once. She physically helped me push, coached me through every contraction, and gave me the reassurance I needed to keep going.

Our baby was sunny-side up, which made labor even more challenging. The doctor came in multiple times, suggesting we use a vacuum, which felt discouraging at times. But Suzi never wavered. She believed in me when I started to doubt myself. She kept me focused, reminded me of my strength, and gave me the confidence to keep pushing. After hours of effort, we finally started to see the top of his head around 1:00 AM. Even then, Suzi never stopped motivating me, offering the kindest, most uplifting words. In the end, my husband and I made the decision to use the vacuum, and with just one contraction, our baby was here. Even though other nurses were calling to check in on her, Suzi never once stepped away. She was completely dedicated to my delivery, fully present in every moment, and deeply invested in helping me bring my son into the world. And at 3:00 AM, because of her unwavering support, we did it. Suzi was already a special part of our journey long before labor—my husband and I had the privilege of having her as our instructor for our birthing class. For four weeks, we met with her, along with other expecting parents, to prepare for this life-changing experience.

Never did we imagine that the same incredible woman who guided us through those classes would be the one to help bring our baby into the world. It was truly meant to be, and we feel beyond blessed and grateful. My family members in the room were in awe of Suzi—her compassion, knowledge, and dedication were evident in every single moment. She made an unforgettable impact on all of us, but especially on me. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering support meant everything, and I will carry that gratitude with me forever. Our experience at Froedtert was incredible, and Suzi will always be a part of one of the most important and beautiful moments of our lives.
