October 2019 Honoree
suzy nieves, RN
My significant other came to have a dialysis catheter inserted. He had a brain injury and is not always responsive. Suzy was very patient with him while inserting his IV while he moved his hand making the procedure more difficult for her. I especially appreciate her compassion exhibited when I shared with her that my significant other's current facility is not recognizing his responsiveness to commands even though he was responding to her. She encouraged me to be his advocate. I am not good at expressing my feelings, but I have dealt with many in the past 2.5 months and she is one of the best. She is a jewel and an asset to your facility.
Thank you, Suzy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
