Svetlana, a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit nurse, was recognized by a co-worker for providing extraordinary care. Recently, one of her patients was in respiratory distress and had difficulty speaking for herself. With compassion and respect, Svetlana continued to advocate for her patient's wishes and was able to keep her from undergoing an unwanted procedure.
