Svetlana Valayeva has been a Registered Nurse in Woodhull Hospital’s outpatient HIV care center for the past five years and has made it her daily mission to deliver the highest quality care possible to every patient she encounters. Ms. Valayeva has established herself as a repository of knowledge in regards to vaccine-related education for both patients and staff alike. Her passion to ensure that all the patients at the Paul Paroski Clinic achieve the best possible health outcomes is evident in every aspect of her patient interactions. She was instrumental in outreaching patients to educate them and to advocate for COVID-19 vaccinations for the high-risk population. She also volunteered to assist in the COVID-19 vaccine clinic in her free time.

Valayeva’s passion is not just limited to the current care she provides, but in enhancing her ability to optimize the care she can deliver to her patient population, as she consistently seeks to expand her knowledge base in ways that enable her to provide the best possible care for the population she works with. It Is this passion for knowledge that had inspired her in her short time here to achieve her BSN, her Ambulatory Care certification, her HIV/AIDs certification, her certification as an Asthma Educator and is currently working on becoming certified as a Diabetes Educator. She delivers personally tailored patient care with a unique enthusiasm that goes above and beyond expectations to do what’s best for her patients and her clinic. She is an exemplary nurse within her department.
