We had to go back again the next day as well because I was still having trouble. Sybil was just as calm and reassuring as before.
Sybil went beyond the “extra mile” for my husband and me when he was recently in Mission Hospital for a pacemaker. She was very kind and patient with him and had a very positive attitude at all times. My observation was that she treated everyone in the same caring manner and she was obviously a very skilled nurse. My husband was released the next day following his procedure. It was necessary for him to come home with a catheter because he was unable to urinate on his own. It was explained to him how to look after and change the catheter on a regular basis, but when he got home, he could not remember any of the instructions. I was clueless, having no experience with a catheter at all. We were both very anxious and nearing panic mode. He remembered Sybil’s name, because she had been such a positive force, and called her floor in the heart tower and asked for her. When she heard the problem, she said, come back and we will help you. She, in a very calming way, taught me what to do. Turns out, we had to go back again the next day as well, because I was still having trouble. She was just as calm and reassuring as before. We wouldn’t have gotten through this experience without her and we are both grateful to her.
